Review of parenteral nutrition

Parenteral nutrition represents a life-sustaining option for folks who require nutritional support. Specific conditions warrant the use of total parenteral nutrition (TNP) and peripheral parenteral nutrition (PPN) in treating patients unable to undergo enteral therapy.

The goal is to help clinicians recognize when TPN and PPN are appropriate. Further, we will review clinical guidelines for the safe administration and monitoring of these therapies.
